DeFi Researcher – Up to $150K base

Amicus has recently partnered with an exciting Blockchain foundation who spearhead projects aiming at uplifting both their community and the wider Ethereum ecosystem.

They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DeFi Researcher who will play a pivotal role in developing robust quantitative models and uncovering insights from both establishing and emerging DeFi protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deep DeFi Protocol research – evaluate novel protocols and explore innovative yield-generating strategies, potential usage and integration opportunities.
  • Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning – generate predictive models and analyse market microstructure, order book dynamics, and liquidity patterns.
  • Innovation and Collaboration – stay abreast of industry trends; collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantitative insights into trading systems.
  • Reporting and Communication – prepare reports to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; translate quantitative insights into actionable recommendations for investment and operational strategies.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation – collect, clean, and analyse large datasets from blockchain networks (EVM and non-EVM chains).
  • Quantitative Modelling and Strategy Development – develop and refine models and algorithms for portfolio optimisation, risk management, volatility forecasting and execution of trading strategies.
  • Risk Management – identify and assess market, operational, and regulatory risks.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role in Web3.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience in research and analysis of DeFi protocols, with a focus on identifying yield-generating opportunities.
  • Strong proficiency in quantitative analysis techniques, statistical modelling and data visualization.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, R or similar languages for data analysis and model implementation.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and alternative data sources for predictive modelling is highly desirable.
Benefits:
  • $120K-$150K base salary.
  • Fully remote.
