Who am I? – Chris Dixon!
Our latest addition to the team is Chris who has joined us fresh out of university, looking to embark on a new career in recruitment. After his first month in the role, we recently caught up with him to find out how he was finding his new position and what his role at Amicus Recruitment will entail.
How has your first month at Amicus Recruitment been?
It has been really good getting to know everyone and learning to become an expert in my market. I have enjoyed the challenge of breaking into businesses and negotiating with them, and with it being my first role in recruitment, I have thoroughly relished the fresh challenge in my career.
What have you been doing since you’ve started?
Since I have started, I have been speaking to candidates and getting a better understanding of the market and the needs and motivations of each individual, of which I have found really interesting and informative. In addition, I have been speaking to businesses and negotiating terms with them through understanding their businesses and its culture and matching the perfect candidates with the requirements.
What’s your area of specialism and why do you feel you’ll be successful in this market?
My area of specialism is the Java Development market and I strongly believe I will be successful in this market due to my drive to have the best understanding of the market and the candidates within it. The Java market is a thriving one and I am confident I can take advantage of this potential and make the most of it.
What attracted you to work for Amicus Recruitment over other agencies?
I was attracted to work for Amicus Recruitment largely due to its strong team culture with everyone in the business striving towards the same goal and assisting each other in doing so. The ambition and drive of the directors I gauged in my interview and now see from working here, is something that inspires me to be part of the success of this business going forwards.
What are your goals in the next 12 months?
My initial goal over the next 12 months is to fully qualify myself as a Recruitment Consultant, and once I have reached this goal, I am going to make a strong push towards hitting my annual target and put myself in the best possible position going into the next financial year.
Finally, tell us an interesting fact about you!
I am quite short on interesting facts unfortunately… I have lived in three countries though other than the UK including France, Belgium and Spain but you just can’t beat the English weather can you!?
