Lead Back End Engineer - Sports Performance Analytics Tool - £70,000 - £90,000

 

I'm working with a startup that has built a tool to improve sports performance. They track professional and elite player metrics to help them improve their game and stats. They've signed some big contracts recently so are going through an exciting period of growth.

They are currently an engineering team of 20 based in London and India and are looking to strengthen their London team.

This role is perfect for someone who has a keen interest in Sports and Data Science. If you're looking to move from a Senior Engineer to Lead Engineer this is also a good role for you as the CTO is looking for someone to potentially line manage and mentor some of the more Junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and testing across the Back End
  • You'll be the gateway between the customer-facing application team and the ML/Data Team
  • Architectural Design and Implementation - Be involved with strategy and architectural decisions
  • Feature Development - collaborate with the data team and application team to build features from conception to deployment
  • Mentor junior-mid level engineers onsite in London and their remote Indian team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in Back End or Full Stack development
  • Experience in either an early-stage startup or a 50-100 startup
  • Interest in Sports and Game Analytics
  • B2C SaaS experience is also desirable
  • Tech Stack: TypeScript, Node, GraphQL, AWS, Git, Jenkins, SQL, CircleCI
  • Desirables: React, Python
